Tour of Our Previous Home

Our First Home
we had the garage and shutters faux finished by a professional to look like wood.  We also decided to darken the stucco trim (which is a very easy and pretty cheap thing for a painter to do)

Living room  - Color on the couch wall- Glidden "Scroll Beige", Color on the Piano wall -Glidden "Fauna."  Chairs from DownEast Home, Rug from Bukoos, Pillows from Target, TJ Maxx, and Ross.  Lamp and the mirror table it is on - Target.

Master Bedroom  - Color- Benjamin Moore "puritan grey", Rug from homedecorators.com, curtains from Target.com, hanging plates from Pier 1 Imports, Chair - this was an old chair from my mom that I reupholstered, Table next to chair from Tuesday Morning, Lamps from Real Deals, Pillows and Bedding from Target, TJ Maxx, and Ross.  Bedside table I found on the curb - painted it white and added new hardware, Bed from Campo (no longer in business).

Master Bath  -  Color- Glidden "Scroll Beige."  Towel hook from Hip n Humble, Shower Curtain from DownEast Home for $2 - I unpicked the monogram then took it to someone to embroider our monogram on it.  Art work I made by printing a picture I liked off the computer then had it enlarged at a copy store, I then traced the image (using tracing paper found at any craft store) onto the canvas and finally simply, painted in the lines.   The mirror we made look more custom by adding a molding frame, the molding is from Home depot we painted it black (make sure to paint the back too!) and glued in place with liquid nails.

Boys Bedroom  -  Color - custom color match but I think it is very similar to Benjamin Moore "newburyport blue", The star I traced and cut out on a large roll of contact paper - after pealing the backing paper it sticks to the wall like painters tape.  Bed from DownEast Home. Bedding and Pillows I made except the large bolster pillow from Target.  Airplane hanging (by fishing wire) from curtain rod is from Tai Pan.

Kitchen  - Color on walls Glidden "scroll beige", Color on Door Benjamin Moore "Puritan Grey" and antiqued with Van Dyke Brown glaze.  Bar stools from Pottery Barn.  The kitchen cabinets used to be maple (like our bathrooms) and we had them refaced.  The price to reface is a ton less and a much quicker/easier process than ripping out and replacing cabinetry.  We highly recommend the guy that did ours, he has done other kitchens for friends of ours and they turned out great as well - McKean Woodworking.  The backsplash is bamboo wood tiles I found on  Ebay (click on this link).  Hardware from Pottery barn.

Nursery  -  My husband Matt did an awesome trim job on the walls, we just painted the insides of the "frames" tan.  Crib and Rocking chair from Pottery Barn.  Plug in light sconces from DownEast Home.  Bedding and Curtain - I made.  Monkey vinyl decal from 2modern.com.  FYI Another site I love with cute decals is modernwallgraphics.com.

Hall Bath   - Color (I don't recommend - it was a nice green/tan but had a bad yellow undertone) a similar but much better color would be Restoration hardware's "slate".  I stenciled the alphabet around the room and made the shower curtain by stenciling numbers on the fabric with some fabric paint.  Again we  framed out the mirror in this bathroom.  The unfinished wood stool was from Michaels, after painting it I had the vinyl lettering made to say "now I know my ABC's"

Extra Bedroom/ Weight Room  -   Flooring was a Laminate click and lock product from Ikea.  My husband Matt once again installed the awesome trim work.  Color on walls - again- scroll beige!  Weight bench from Walmart :)  (definitely not a pretty decorating item - but seriously I use it 4 times a week and it keeps the weight off me better than anything else I have ever tried!)

Laundry Room  -  I found the hex tiles on KSL classifieds, the cabinet is "Akurum" from Ikea with hardware from Home Depot.  Paint- Benjamin Moore's "Timber Wolf".  Wall decals from allposters.com.

Sadly I don't have any photos of our family room, I don't know what happened!  The same furniture is in our family room in our new home though which you can see on the "casablanca tour" link.

  3. Sorry the Nursery color is a mystery - but very similar to Glidden's "Scroll Beige." The Laundry Room color is Benjamin Moore's "Timber Wolf."
