I explained my weight lifting workout routine in this post, so go there for more information. If you already workout regularly and are unhappy with the results - I STRONGLY recommend that you try weight lifting! For anyone else out there that currently doesn't work out at all and you are encouraged to give this a try please do - It Works!
Years ago when I was at my biggest size I told myself to just be happy with who I was and content. I told myself that I should just accept the fact that I was older, my metabolism had changed, I had been pregnant a couple times, and this was just how my body was going to look for the rest of my life. The first time I lost this much weight I couldn't believe that it was possible and I had been selling myself short. Now I know THIS is the real me. The other (larger) version was not living a healthy lifestyle and was lying to herself about it.
I would love to hear if any of you out there were encouraged by my previous weight lifting post and gave it a shot! Please share if you are enjoying weight lifting or seeing some positive results! It would make posting these pictures on the internet a little less painful for me :)
Now let's get back to decorating!
You look amazing! Congrats! I had similar success with Jillian Michaels DVD's (which also uses weights) and couldn't believe the changes. Kudos for being brave enough to share to help motivate others :)ReplyDelete
And that wall behind you? WOW!
Thank you! I'm so glad you shared your success as well - good for you! You made me laugh about "the wall behind me" - It was a stencil that I hope to be able to tell more about soon!Delete
Wow Amy, what an inspiring post! I would certainly have to agree that weight-lifting can do wonders for your body. I am currently on a mission to loose baby weight (although my "babies" are 5-year old twin girls) after having 4 children. With age it DOES get harder but with dedication, determination, and INSPIRATION it CAN be done. I'm not a fan of magic pills, shakes, or fad diets--but a huge supporter of diet (clean eating, portion, moderation, etc.), exercise, and weight lifting. Keep up the great work, you are amazing!ReplyDelete
Thanks so much, and good luck to you in your weight loss mission - you are right it CAN be done!Delete
Thanks for posting these! I read your post a while back and started thinking about it. In the meantime, I stopped eating gluten, sugar, and red meat, and have lost 13 lbs. After that, knowing I can do ANYTHING, I will take care of myself and the rest of the weight by implementing a weight training program. Thanks for the inspiration, and I will also incorporate your idea of this new me being the real me!ReplyDelete
Thank you for your support and kind comments! Great job on your weight loss too! That takes serious commitment to cut out all those foods! Great job and good luck with weight training - I hope you love it as much as I do!Delete
You look great! I need to follow your lead!ReplyDelete
